About Dr. Tatiana Astray

My understanding of organizational behaviour and business comes from my educational journey that includes a B.Sc. in Psychology, an M.Sc. in Marketing and Consumer Studies, and a Ph.D. in Organization Studies. In addition, my professional experience includes working in the education, research, technology start-ups, and marketing sectors. I also sit on the board for Jumpstart, an NGO that focuses on the economic empowerment of Canadian refugees.

My journey to understand human behaviour was motivated by an early and deep desire to help others engage in the behaviours needed to enhance their well-being, create productive relationships, and achieve their long-term goals. My pursuits have created a love for research and the thirst to understand the human experience better. I am passionate about providing insights to questions such as, 'How do we understand each other?', 'How can we best cooperate?' and, 'How do situations, relationships, and personality tendencies shape the way that we approach differences and conflict in partnerships?' My research focuses on answering these questions in the context of negotiations, while shedding light on the ways that individuals can improve their professional relationships and negotiation outcomes.

Based on my professional experience and pedagogical interests, I give talks and provide training workshops on the topics of negotiations, interpersonal communication, and managing professional relationships. I take great pride and satisfaction in helping professionals master the essential skills needed for personal and professional success.

In my spare time, I enjoy going on long-distance treks, bouldering and painting.
